ETHICAL PRINCIPLES


Our ethical principles are the values that set the ground rules for all that we do as employees of Belmar A.S. As we seek to achieve responsible commercial success, we promise to keep our core principles as our main approach, always mindful of our promise to employees and customers that we will achieve responsible commercial success.

Our Ethical Principles Are:

HONESTY: We will not say things that are false. We will never deliberately mislead. We will be as candid as possible, openly and freely sharing information, as appropriate to the relationship.

PROMISE-KEEPING: We will go to great lengths to keep our commitments. We will not make promises that can't be kept and we will not make promises on behalf of the Company unless we have the authority to do so.

FAIRNESS: We do not apply or accept any kind of abuse in the workplace, whether physical, mental or verbally; and we stand by the fact that all members should and will be treated fairly, by every person in the Company. We will create and follow a process and achieve outcomes that a reasonable person would call just, evenhanded and nonarbitrary.

RESPECT FOR OTHERS: We will be open and direct in our communication, and receptive to influence. We will honor and value the abilities and contributions of others, embracing the responsibility and accountability for our actions in this regard.

NONDISCRIMINATION: We do not accept, under no condition, any act of discrimination based on gender, race, ethnicity or religion; and treat all members of the Company and all suppliers equally.

COMPASSION: We will maintain an awareness of the needs of others and act to meet those needs whenever possible. We will also minimize harm whenever possible. We will act in ways that are consistent with our commitment to social responsibility.

INTEGRATION: We value and include the opinions and inputs of our employees during decision-making processes related to their respective fields and areas; and we will always provide the necessary means of communication to all members of the Company.

HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICY


We at Belmar A.S. are committed to establishing a safe and healthy workplace.
Our commitment:

  • Belmar regards its safety and health policy as a vital, non-negotiable and integral part of its management.

  • Belmar believes that improving safety and health conditions is a cornerstone of the corporation's activities that extends to all levels of the company.

  • Belmar is committed to complying with current legislation, codes of best practice and any other commitments to which the company voluntarily subscribes.

 
Our principles:

  • Belmar's corporate culture is based on teamwork, open communication and highly exacting standards.Individuals are the corporation's most valuable resource. The company's growth is based on constant improvement of its workplace conditions.

  • The corporation prohibits any work that prioritises any other consideration above that of occupational H&S policy Belmar safeguarding workers' safety and health conditions. Productivity is the result of safety.

  • We integrate Safety and Health in the management of our business in such a way that all activities are considered with a perspective of prevention of all types of accidents and protection of the people at work. We commit to perform systematic identification of hazards and to manage them with appropriate risk assessments and subsequent actions to minimise danger.

  • Training, raising awareness and participation by Belmar workers in the management of health and safety issues are key elements for achieving safety goals.

  • Individuals are aware of and assume responsibility for maintaining safety and health conditions in their work environments. They are proactive in applying and safeguarding these conditions.

 
Our attitude:

  • Safety and health management at Belmar is based on ongoing improvement. It is planned, coordinated and executed in accordance with the reality at the company, with a commitment to compliance with the policy and prevailing legislation.

  • Being open to continuous improvement, Belmar allows third party audits regarding safety issues including but not inclusively of government safety officials and clients’ auditors.

  • Belmar's safety and health policy is a required subject for all Belmar employees.

SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT POLICY


We  at Belmar A.S. aspire to reduce the the impact of our production and operation to a minimum for the people, our host communities and the environment and strive to achieve leading industry practice. Sound principles to govern safety, business conduct, social, environmental and economic activities are integral to the way we do business.

Wherever we operate we will develop, implement and maintain management systems for sustainable development that drive continual improvement and ensure that we:

• do not compromise our safety values, and seek ways to promote and improve the health of our workforce and the community;
• identify, assess and manage risks to employees, contractors, the environment and our host communities;
• uphold ethical business practices and meet or, where less stringent than our standards, exceed applicable legal and other requirements;
• understand, promote and uphold fundamental human rights within our sphere of influence, respecting the traditional rights of Indigenous peoples and valuing cultural heritage;
• encourage a diverse workforce and provide a work environment in which everyone is treated fairly, with respect and can realize their full potential;
• set and achieve targets that promote efficient use of resources and include reducing and preventing pollution;
• enhance biodiversity protection by assessing and considering ecological values and land-use aspects in investment, operational and closure activities;
• engage regularly, openly and honestly with our host governments and people affected by our operations, and take their views and concerns into account in our decision-making;
• regularly review our performance and aspire to always improve.

In implementing this Policy, we will engage with and support our employees, intermediaries, suppliers, customers, business partners and host communities in sharing responsibility for meeting our requirements.

HUMAN RIGHTS POLICY


Human rights are basic rights inherent to all human beings, regardless of nationality, place of residence, sex, sexual orientation, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, language, or any other status.

Belmar A.S. acknowledges, respects and, through its Business Principles, commits to operating its business in a manner consistent with the principles contained in the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Belmar A.S.’s view on human rights reflects the Company’s commitment to conduct its business in a manner consistent with these principles and to protect human rights within the Company’s sphere of influence.

• All employment with Belmar A.S. is voluntary. We fully respect all applicable laws establishing a minimum age for employment and we do not use child or forced labour in any of our operations or facilities. We do not tolerate any form of unacceptable treatment of workers, including but not limited to physical punishment or abuse, or involuntary servitude.
• Belmar A.S. abides by all laws and regulations regarding pay practices.
• We respect our employees’ right to choose to join or not join a trade union, or to have recognised employee representation in accordance with local law.
• Diversity is embraced at Belmar A.S. We recognise that a diverse mix of backgrounds, skills and experiences drives new ideas, products, and services and provides us with a sustained competitive advantage.
• We believe everyone should be treated with respect regardless of their background. ANTI-BRIBERY and ANTI-CORRUPTION POLICY


This anti-bribery policy exists to set out the responsibilities of BELMAR A.S and those who work for us in regards to observing and upholding our zero-tolerance position on bribery and corruption. It applies to all employees, consultants, contractors, trainees, seconded staff, home workers, casual workers, agency staff, volunteers, interns, agents, or any other person or persons associated with us (including third parties), or any of our subsidiaries or their employees. 
 
BELMAR A.S.is committed to conducting business in an ethical and honest manner, and is committed to implementing and enforcing systems that ensure bribery is prevented. BELMAR A.S.has zero-tolerance for bribery and corrupt activities. We are committed to acting professionally, fairly, and with integrity in all business dealings and relationships, wherever in the country we operate. We are bound by the Turkish and international Law, in regards to our conduct both at home and abroad. BELMAR A.S.recognises that bribery and corruption are punishable by imprisonment and a fine. It is with this in mind that we commit to preventing bribery and corruption in our business, and take our legal responsibilities seriously.
 
Bribery refers to the act of offering, giving, promising, asking, agreeing, receiving, accepting, or soliciting something of value or of an advantage so to induce or influence an action or decision; any inducement, reward, or object/item of value offered to another individual in order to gain commercial, contractual, regulatory, or personal advantage. Employees must not engage in any form of bribery, whether it be directly, passively (as described above), or through a third party (such as an agent or distributor). They must not bribe a foreign public official anywhere in the world. They must not accept bribes in any degree and if they are uncertain about whether something is a bribe or a gift or act of hospitality, they must seek further advice from the company’s compliance manager.
 
BELMAR A.S. accepts to receive and give normal and appropriate gestures of hospitality and goodwill (whether given to/received from third parties) so long as the giving or receiving of gifts is not made with the intention of influencing decisions, eliciting favors or benefits, or not complying with local law; and so long as the gifts are given openly, in the name of the company, and is confirmed by the compliance manager.
 
BELMAR A.S .does not accept and will not make any form of facilitation payments of any nature, does not allow kickbacks to be made or accepted; and will not make any political contributions to any party.
 
BELMAR A.S. accepts (and indeed encourages) the act of donating to charities – whether through services, knowledge, time, or direct financial contributions (cash or otherwise) – and agrees to disclose all charitable contributions it makes. We will ensure that all charitable donations made are legal and ethical under local laws and practices, and that donations are not offered/made without the approval of the compliance manager.
